Kelly O'Grady is an on-air correspondent for CBS News. With degrees from Harvard University and Harvard Business School, as well as extensive industry experience, her background blending both business and on-air expertise provides a unique perspective when it comes to the markets, tech and politics.
Based out of New York, Kelly covers everything from the economy to artificial intelligence. Prior to her tenure at CBS News, she was at the Fox Business Network. With FBN, Kelly led the network's coverage of the demise and trial of former crypto king, Sam Bankman-Fried. She also led reporting on Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter, the regional banking collapse and contributed to the network's midterm election coverage. In addition, Kelly often serves as a guest anchor across a number of FBN shows. Previously, Kelly was based out of the Los Angeles bureau, focusing on the most impactful and nationally relevant stories out of the west coast.
In industry, Kelly developed deep media expertise as a member of Disney's Corporate Strategy team and a management consultant at McKinsey. While at Disney, she helped build the company’s direct-to-consumer streaming efforts and worked on some of the industry's most important M&A transactions. At McKinsey, she advised CEOs across a number of functions and industries, including media, insurance and healthcare.
Outside of her work with CBS and Fox Business in journalism, Kelly was the Chief Correspondent and Head of Video at dot.LA, a multimedia news organization covering the Los Angeles tech & startup scene. In this role, she served as a guest contributor on national TV networks where she provided expert commentary on the latest tech and media business headlines. Additionally, Kelly was responsible for the business strategy and execution behind dot.LA’s video efforts.
Kelly also held the title of Miss Massachusetts USA. She lives in New York City with her husband and french bulldog, Biggie.
